Fothergilla: a shrub for all seasons

What an fuzzy late spring show; with an unusual bottle-brush bloom which lacks petals. The entire bloom is made up of stamens-strange indeed, and fragrant too! Shade tolerant, small in stature – never getting out of bounds, and a shrub I prefer left untrimmed. The fall foliage display is unequaled with it’s varied hues of oranges, and yellows.

Honey scented, and a semi native to the eastern states
